MLB announces umpires for League Championship Series

Major League Baseball today announced the umpires who have been assigned to the two League Championship Series. Thirty-seven-year Major League Umpire Joe West will be the crew chief for the American League Championship Series between the Baltimore Orioles and the Kansas City Royals, while 31-year Umpire Gerry Davis will lead the crew given duties for the National League Championship Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants.

This marks the second consecutive year that Davis and West have been assigned as crew chiefs to the LCS. Both umpires also worked the 2014 Wild Card Games presented by Budweiser, with West serving the NL Wild Card Game between the Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Davis filling crew chief duties for the AL Wild Card Game between the Royals and the Oakland Athletics.

West, who leads all active umpires in years of service, will guide an ALCS crew that includes regular season crew chief Brian Gorman, Marvin Hudson, Dan Iassogna, Ron Kulpa, Tim Timmons and Mark Wegner.

The Replay Officials for the ALCS will be Iassogna (Games 1-2) and Timmons (Game 3 through end of ALCS). The ALCS is scheduled to begin on Friday at Camden Yards, with a first pitch of 8:07 p.m. (ET).

The crew of Davis, whose 123 career Postseason games are the most in Major League history, includes Mark Carlson, Phil Cuzzi, Paul Emmel, Greg Gibson, regular season crew chief Bill Miller and Bill Welke. The NLCS Replay Officials will be Emmel (Games 1-2) and Cuzzi (Game 3 through end of NLCS). The NLCS is scheduled to begin on Saturday at Busch Stadium, with a first pitch of 8:07 p.m. (ET)/7:07 p.m. (CT).

Major League Umpire Todd Tichenor will assist the designated Replay Officials at the MLB Replay Operations Center, located at MLB Advanced Media in New York.
